Prep for your Spray Tan

Avoid These Products:

Spray tan should be the last of your beauty services that week

  • Ensure that waxing, facials, lash and brow treatments are completed at least 2 days before your spray tan.

  • ​Pedicure, manicure, hair, and massages should be done at lest 24 hours prior to your spray tan session. 

  • ​Schedule your spray tan as the final beauty service of the week. 

The Night Before

  • Shower

  • Shave

  • Exfoliate

  • Moisturize

Your tan will hold best doing these things the night before. Keep in mind you should avoid shaving for 48 hours after your spray tan.

Bring the right clothes

  • Bring cotton loose clothes to wear after your spray tan, ideally long cotton loose pants and a cotton t-shirt.

  • Bring flipflops or slides to wear home on your feet. We do provide disposable foot wear if you forget.

Spray tan after care

Do Daily:

  • Moisturize with tan friendly product after shower

  • Keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water

  • Start using tan extender around day 3-4 if needed

Before you rinse off, Avoid:

  • Excess sweating, tight clothing, socks, and closed toed shoes

  • ​Always avoid Jergens, Olay, Treehut, and Bath&Body Works with your spray tan

When to rinse

  • Rapid: 4-6 hours

  • Original: 8-12 hours

  • Clear: 8-12 hours

During Development

  • Do not get wet or spill anything on  yourself, sweat, wear tight clothes, touch your body.

  • Please wear loose baggy clothing.

During first rinse

  • Use only luke warm water to rinse the topical botanical color off your body the first time in the shower.

  • Skip shaving, body wash, and washing your hair until your second rinse.

  • Pat yourself dry with a cotton towel.

Products to use

  • Tan-friendly products that are paraben, sulfate free like Beettan or Hempz.

  • Beettan has body wash, tan extenders, lotions, exfoliators, and sugar scrubs available at the salon to purchase.
